Account & Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data associated with MindMirror AI at any time. This page explains what data we hold, how to request deletion, and what happens after we receive your request.

Delete your account and all data — no email needed

Signed-in users can delete their account and all server-side data directly from within the app or web app: open Settings → Delete All Data & Reset. This immediately and irreversibly removes your account, reflections, and all data stored on our servers. No waiting period, no email required.

You can also sign in to the web app and use the same Settings option from any browser.

What data does MindMirror AI hold?

On-device data (guest / unregistered users)

Your reflections, journal entries, and perspective threads
App settings and preferences (theme, language, font, notifications)
Your display name and optional location (used only to contextualise AI responses)
Streak and usage counts

For guest (unregistered) users, this data is stored on your device only using the platform's secure local storage. When you create an account, your saved reflections and threads are also synced to your account on our servers — see below.

Server-side data (signed-in users and all users)

Account and authentication data (signed-in users) — your email address and account profile, stored securely in Supabase and used to authenticate you and sync your data across devices.
Saved reflections, threads, and journal entries (signed-in users) — when you create an account, your saved reflections and perspective threads are synced to your account on our servers so you can access them across devices. Deleting your account from Settings immediately and permanently removes these from our servers.
AI processing inputs — text you submit for analysis is sent to OpenAI's API in real time. AI responses are temporarily cached on our servers for up to 6 hours to improve performance; for signed-in users this cache is deleted immediately on account deletion. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how OpenAI handles submitted data.
Anonymous analytics — aggregated, non-identifying usage events (e.g. feature usage counts, crash reports). These contain no reflection content, no name, and no device identifiers that could identify you personally.
Subscription records — if you have an active or past subscription, RevenueCat holds purchase receipt data on our behalf to manage entitlements. Deletion requests for subscription records are handled in accordance with RevenueCat's data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

How to request data deletion

In-app or web app deletion (recommended — instant) Open the MindMirror AI app or web app → Settings → scroll to the bottom → tap Delete All Data & Reset. This immediately and irreversibly deletes your account, all reflections, preferences, and server-side data. You will be signed out automatically. No waiting period.

Email request (if you cannot access the app) If you are unable to sign in or access Settings, send an email to admin@mind-mirrorai.com with the subject line Data Deletion Request. Please include:

The email address associated with your account
A brief description of what you would like deleted

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Receive confirmation For email requests, we will send a confirmation once your data has been removed. In-app deletion takes effect immediately — no confirmation email is sent.

What happens after deletion?

On-device data — deleted immediately and irreversibly when you use the in-app reset option.
Analytics data — anonymous analytics events cannot be linked back to you, but upon request we will remove any records associated with an identifiable device or user ID within 30 days.
Subscription records — RevenueCat retains transaction records as required by financial regulations for a minimum of 7 years. We will submit a deletion request to RevenueCat on your behalf for any non-financial records.
AI processing inputs — these are not retained by our servers; no further action is required.

Retention limitations

We are required by law to retain certain records (e.g. financial transaction records related to subscriptions) for a minimum period. These records will be retained only for as long as legally required and then permanently deleted. They are stored securely and are not used for any other purpose.
